News: Not really news but I’m finding the NFL schedule particularly challenging this year in fantasy terms. The bye week situation was the biggest one but then you add in these Saturday games and even the head-scratching Monday night double headers. Can someone explain to me why a league that loves money would schedule two games at the same time on Monday night? Say what you want about the Thursday night games but at least you have all the eyeballs…
News: I remember well when I first caught the fantasy football bug. It was 2006 and I played in a league with a bunch of online gamers I knew. I had been enjoying watching NFL games for years but then this came along and it was like discovering you could put bacon in a grilled cheese sandwich. Like, why was I not doing this before? It’s always nice to watch a genuinely good (or even just exciting) football game and…
News: Apologies for the late and somewhat abridged newsletter this week. We seem to have more challenges than usual to juggle at Clan McDonald Fantasy Headquarters this week and it’s been a bit more difficult to carve out the time. The big news in Clan McDonald is the solidification of all but one play-off spot. Congrats to those that can breathe a little easier heading into Week 14. An interesting pair of match-ups await us this week. The Brewers have…
News: Didn’t we have us a time? Were you not entertained? I know I was. Three contests in Clan McDonald with play-off implications came down to the wire. The thrill of victory (maybe even the surprise of victory?) and most definitely the bitter sting of defeat. Dispassionately, we know Thursday night counts the same as what happens Monday night. There is no “in the lead” or “coming from behind” but it’s impossible to resist the allure of that artificial drama….
News: Pretty robust scoring in Clan McDonald this week on the whole! In the standings, the eye-catching update is that Archie has officially locked up a play-off spot and while I don’t keep records on that sort of thing, it would seem to me Week 11 is pretty early to reach that milestone. With the best win-loss record, being tops in points scored and not having a lot of Qs to deal with, I think it’s safe to say it’s…
